Spot on, Nick! Naming emotions is the biggest backbone item that has enabled me to sustain a healthy relationship with my partner. I used to intellectualize, saying I 'feel off' or 'stressed' to avoid the real emotion. Verbalizing specific ones normalizes it in my head and helps them to understand me better. I also log emotion in the Daylio app - would highly recommend.
